My Greatest Prize

It seems as each year ends,
I look back and think of my friends,
What I did right what I did wrong,
Who came into my life and who is gone.

But every year there are those who remain,
Looking only for friendship nothing else to gain.
They have stayed by me through good and bad,
Smiled when I am happy held me when I've been sad.

After so many years you begin to realize,
That a friend is life's greatest prize,
Not the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow,
That we seem to seek where ever we go.

So as I grow older and begin another New Year's Day,
I will thank God for those friends He sent my way.
And my New Years resolution will always be,
To thank Him again for every breath of life He's given me.

Then I will pray He will show me the way,
Give me wisdom and guide me through each day.
And most of all at the end of each year,
Keep by me those friends I will always hold so dear.
And as I make new friends I'll treasure the old,
For the first are silver the latter gold.

Home alone
Just Rup Rup and I
TV blaring
Raining Snow
noisy silence
No where to Go

Don't walk in front of me,
I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me,
I may not lead.
Walk beside me and
be my friend.

- Albert Camus -

the year is almost over, and it is time to think of new years resolutions, things we would like to change, things we need to change and things that will change. I guess I really should think about it. I know I would like to make my house feel like a home instead of a cold box that I hide in once the days work is done. I know I would like to find a reason to shut this computer off and never turn it on again, but I don't see either of those things happening since I really don't have any idea how to change that in my life. So until I figure it out or God since some intervention I guess I will be here come next year.

I just seemed drained, like there is no spirit to myself at all. Worked passed, in a slowed haze of confusion, chaos, and unfulfilled desires to achieve much more than what was accomplished. home in the silence slumber found a restful respite from the mundane of the day.

A productive day but yet not enough hours. I woke with a smile

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

The year is closing, and so is my life I feel like. I won't be home to share the new year with him, but he doesn't care. Maybe he is pleased that I can't be there. It makes me wonder who he will be kissing as the old year passes into the new one.

The end is coming to a close
where did it go?

Was i sleeping
or lost in some suspended limbo?

It seems like yesterday the leaves were budding
and the snows were gone

Where did it go
how did it pass so quickly

Where was I?
I do not know

I have learned how to share
share in such a glory filled way
I have given, not taking but yet receiving
smiles on my face this day

Pleasure and happiness
a liberation from all
a complete self clarification

looking into myself,
knowing who and what and why I am
not questioning the gifts given
just thankful they were

intrigued by the mysteries that are unsolved
forgotten is the past
moving forward
self satisfaction
