VISTAS: An awareness of a range of time, events, or subjects. A broad Mental View.
November 17

If the sky above seems cloudy,
And you are left out in the rain,
If you are searching for a rainbow,
But the colors bring you pain,
If your world is not revolving,
And there is no end in sight,
If you are looking for the sunshine,
But all you see is night,
If all around are smiling,
But all you can do is frown,
If you are tired of all this living,
When life just brings you down,
Then look beyond your teardrops,
At the wonders of this land,
The beauty of a flower,
Like velvet in your hand.
Feel the air around you,
The smell of new mown hay,
Laughing children in the park,
The innocence there at play,

Imagine floating with a butterfly,
As she flutters between the trees,
Or the whispers of the ocean,
On warm hot summer's breeze,
Think of the taste of candy floss,
As it melts upon your tongue,
Or the melody of morning birds,
As they greet each day with song,
Remember words of beauty,
Told in your mother's embrace,
Feel the gentleness of her touch,
As she softly kissed your face,

Seek the good within you,
Cast the clouds from your sky,
Don't look toward the pavement,
But hold your head up high,
Think not what life owes you,
But of all you have to give,
Forget about tomorrow,
Then you can start to live.

So Bless this age your are living in,
With the gifts you can bestow,
Don't disregard the stream of life,
Go gently with the flow.

just past pumpkin time and the new day begins
just another day with nothing changing but the numbers
just another time to search and seek what I may find
just another moment to spend in the silence
just another day in life

upon my desk sits memories, and treasures
a rock, a card, a piece of paper
a picture or two of those I hold dear
things only but the thoughts they bring upon the mind priceless

No trumpets sound when the important decisions of our life are made. Destiny is made known silently.

I found a quote today that makes you sit and think.

Think about it

Fresh from the bed
many thoughts crowd into my head
at first a fog
and then face
one my fingers long to trace
wakefulness is slow
sleep wants to linger
for in my dreams your at my fingers
a warming sort of glow
of leather and lace
wrapped within the dream
of your handsome face.

Laughing, me thinks me should go back to bed and try this day again *Smiles*

21 Nov 98--in retrospect

I drove for 3 hours to get to my destination of the beginning of my journey once parked in the airports long term parking I proceeded to the terminal, bag in hand. I approached the ticket counter with wonder in my thoughts Soon I was waiting for my travel partner to come, a person I did not know and had never met. She was a delightful person. We then proceeded through airport security. ughh, never wear boots with chains when flying. The security people soon had me doing the swan dance to verify I carried nothing illegal.

Once making it through security, and waiting for a a time we boarded our plane and the journey began. The plane taxied the runway and soon we were in flight. The cloud cover was so dense it appeared to be that we were floating over the top of snow covered peaks.

Then the short trip was over and soon the shaking jar of the wheels touching ground returned me to the reality of being safe. on to the airport and looking for the next gate. Oh no it's canceled, Oh well another leaves in 45 minutes, time for a smoke and a potty break. *LOL*

Soon we are in the air again, and somewhere in the flight the clouds lessoned and we could see the ground, it was so awesome to see the smallness of our world from 31,000 feet above. After seemingly endless hours the wheels touched ground again and we proceeded to gather our luggage and hail a cab.

It was a different world than the one I had left, here there were palm trees and big buildings, and no grass to be seen. We were lost but soon were found a pay phone and some small details helped in that aspect. Our hostess was as delightful as I had expected and such a warmth of knowing that they were there helped a lot.

Off to the hotel and the door man and the elevator man and all the finery that only a poor girl could ever dream of. a couple of short hours later and a fancy meal shared with newly met long time friends set the perfect ending to a beautiful day

One word frees us of all the weight and pain in life. That word is love.
